Profile

gamut inc is a Berlin-based interdisciplinary ensemble led by composers Marion Wörle and Maciej Śledziecki, dedicated to music theatre, computer-controlled pipe organ, and self-built music machines. Founded in 2013, gamut inc develops original productions that engage critically with technology, automation, and human-machine relations.

gamut inc’s work with the computer-controlled organ began in 2009, with a commission from ON – Neue Musik Köln for the Kunst-Station Sankt Peter: to fuse a pipe organ with a large-scale digital installation by the laboratory for Art and Urbanism LAb[au] from Brussels. At the time few congregations were ready to open their instruments to this kind of work. The duo founded the ensemble officially as gamut inc in 2013, building its own music machines with instrument builder Gerhard Kern. When they returned to the organ in 2018, more churches and veneus opened their doors — and gamut inc carried the practice across Europe and beyond, developing AGGREGATE, first a concert series and then an annual festival, into a platform dedicated to organ music of the 21st century.

Their work spans large-scale music theatre — including the human-machine trilogy OVER THE EDGE CLUB (2021), ROSSUM’S UNIVERSAL ROBOTS (2022), and ZEROTH LAW (2023, Deutsche Oper Berlin with RIAS Chamber Choir and Logos Robot Orchestra).

In 2025, gamut inc completed BLACK SQUARE, a wind-dynamic modular organ built by Tony Decap, inaugurated at CTM Festival and broadcast on Deutschlandfunk Kultur and SWR Kultur. Their organ installation AGGREGAT#10, commissioned by Sónar Festival, was acquired for the permanent collection of Palau Güell Barcelona in 2022.

Currently they are developing an immersive AI installation SPECTRAL DIALOGUES supported by Kulturstiftung des Bundes in collaboration with Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics.
