AGGREGATE Festival pipe organ Berlin 2025

AGGREGATE Festival 2025 Sep 12–14:

We are looking forward to the fifth edition of the AGGREGATE Festival in Berlin! We are delighted to be this year’s opening concert of the Month of Contemporary Music Berlin on Saturday, September 13! The festival expands its focus beyond purely automated organ music to reflect current developments in the new organ movement. The program presents a site-specific installation and organ works inspired by electronics, sound art, contemporary pop and growth processes of fungi at three iconic locations in Berlin, creating connections between heritage and digital culture. As a further highlight, gamut inc will introduce its new, wind-dynamic modular organ to the contemporary organ landscape. The instrument is currently being developed by the traditional music automaton manufacturer Decap and individually adapted to the requirements of gamut inc’s music. Éliane Radigue is one of the most important pioneers of electronic music. Occam Ocean XXV is her first work for organ, for which she worked closely with Frédéric Blondy, who closes the fifth AGGREGATE Festival with this piece at the newly restored St. Hedwig’s Cathedral, the venue of the Aggregate Festival for the first time!
